Group Classes
An Orientation is required for new students. Orientations are held every Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
Family Dog Manners
Level 1
An intoduction to reward based training. SIT, DOWN, COME, OFF and Leash manners are taught. The beginning stage of STAY is introduced. Emphasis is on helping your dog to stay focused on you and to be successful.
Level 2
STAY, WAIT and LEAVE ITare added to your dog's vocabulary while we introduce more distractions into our previous training. Emphasis is on focus when distracted.
Level 3
LEAVE IT and SETTLE are added to your dog's vocabulary while we introduce more distraction to previous training . Dog sports are discussed and explored.
Kids-n-Dogs
Children between the ages of 5-9 will learn how to read canine body language and how to 'speak dog' themselves! The kids will learn how to train dogs to Sit, Lie Down and Come using dogs belonging to staff. Agility games and visual aides will be used to make learning fun!
Parents must attend with their child.
Tricks
This class is fun - plain and simple! But while you're having fun you'll be sharpening your training skills and your dog will learn some cool tricks to show off! Tricks taught will depend on the group, but some examples are: Roll Over, Sit Pretty, High Five, Dance, Crawl, Where's your nose?
Freestyle Moves ( Doggie Dancing! )
Freestyle is a combination of heeling, right side walking and tricks set to music. In this class you'll learn Freestyle moves and learn how to match them to music to create a routine. Don't worry you don't need to be Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers! All you need is a happy dog and a sense of humor !
Freestyle Practice
You asked for it - you got it! Use the space available in the Red Dog Training room to practice and perfect your Freestyle routines or to try out new moves! $5 / per dog
Puppy Playschool - 4 weeks
A crucial socialization period for puppies is between their 4th and 16th week. Don’t miss out on the chance to capitalize on this learning period! Puppies will learn how to Sit, Down, Come and interact appropriately with people and other dogs. Housetraining, chewing, wild behavior and other common puppy challenges will be addressed.
Puppies must be between 8 and 14 weeks of age. Puppy Playschool is on-going - students can join any Puppy Playschool Class at any time once they have registered and attended an orientation!
Small Dog Training - 8 weeks
Though all dogs communicate and learn the same way, training our smaller furry friends has a unique set of challenges. Often small dogs are less food motivated than bigger dogs and they are frequently more cautious of handling. Some little dogs are intimidated by large, boisterous dogs in class and their learning is affected. Even the basic mechanics of training a dog that is so far out of our reach can be difficult! This class addresses these challenges and more in a creative way!

Nose Work 1 - 4 weeks
Come learn about an exciting new dog sport - K9 Nose Work! Scent games are a great way to utilize your dog’s genetic desire to track and hunt. Combine your dog’s natural abilities with a reward system of toys, praise and treats to create a game that is fun for dogs and their owners! Your dog can learn to distinguish between different scents and to seek out objects infused with particular scents. Your dog will have fun, build confidence and burn a lot of mental and physical energy! This class is appropriate for young, adult or senior dogs!

Nose Work 2 - 4 weeks
Get your dog ready for competition or simply expand his scenting abilities! Dogs will learn to find scented articles in challenging environments! Fun brain work for Fido!

Rally Obedience - 4 weeks
Rally Obedience is a fun sport that requires teamwork and precision, but in a more relaxed format than regular competition obedience. This class will introduce you to Rally exercises and heel work..
Therapy Dog - 4 weeks
Therapy dogs visit hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living communities and schools. There are several Therapy organizations that offer certification including our local Vermont group: Caring Canines. Therapy dogs must be well mannered, comfortable in challenging settings and most of all they must enjoy people! Come learn how to prepare your dog for this rewarding volunteer work! Dogs must have basic obedience skills.
Fun –n- Games - 4 weeks
Come on in and play! Teach your dog to run through a tunnel, push a ball with his nose ,jump over hurdles and through a hoop! Great Winter exercise!
Agility 1
An introduction to the fabulous sport of dog agility! Your dog will learn to navigate over all of the agility equipment. Safety, team work and fun is the name of the game!
Agility 2
Work together with your dog to navigate through basic sequences involving multiple obstacles. Dogs must have previous training on all of the equipment. Come have some fun while tiring out your dog!
Small Dog Playgroup – drop in weekly
Finally! A chance for the wee ones to play and socialize with other dogs their size! Come join the fun!
Dogs must be current on vaccines. Please call before attending your first playgroup.

We offer daytime, evening and weekend classes for your convenience. Our classes are small in size to assure individual attention and are designed so that you and your canine companion can experience a variety of different activities! Level one class is required by all students, but after that you have many options! Come have some fun! |
